Need a little extra insight before taking the plunge? Consider some of the following features differentiating between the options available for your needs.
Chillers vs. Commercial Blast Freezers
Most often used in industrial and professional kitchens, commercial blast chillers are a safe and effective way to quickly lower food temperature for preservation and storage between uses. The features in each of these appliances can make all the difference, so it’s important to understand how they can meet (or fail to) your needs.
Blast Chiller: designed to cool food quickly to safe storage temperatures in less than 90 minutes, chillers help rapidly preserve food quality until delivery or prepared food for use.
Blast Freezer: designed to cool food quickly to lower temperatures than a standard blast chiller, this appliance helps preserve food and faster than a standard fridge/freezer combo. Bringing food to the lowest temperature possible in these units may take up to 240 minutes.
Standard Freezer and Refrigerator most often used in residential spaces and commercial spaces not focused on hospitality service, a standard combo – while excellent at maximising kitchen space utility – has less room than commonly needed.
